Marek Skrobecki, born 1951 in Kalisz, Poland, is a film director specializing in classic puppet animation, and works for Se-ma-for Film Production in Łódź. He graduated from the Fine Art Academy in Łódź and the Animation Department of the Polish National Film School in Łódź (receiving his M.A. in 1990). Marek later earned a scholarship from the British Council and received training from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop and Aardman Animation (1992). He made his first film, a cartoon called The Episode, in 1988, and later worked on cartoons for children, but it was only when he made D.I.M. in 1992 at Se-Ma-For that he found his unique gift for animating human size puppets. Using this experience, Marek has gone on to use the practice in his later works, including Ichthys. For more information visit www.se-ma-for.com .(via)
