Pete Candeland, born in Australia, in 1972 and was hired by Disney in Sydney straight from high school, after they saw his drawing skills. Since then, he has worked on many commercials and films, including Disney’s "Beauty and The Beast". He joined Passion Pictures as a director in 2000, and collaborated with "Tank Girl" creator Jamie Hewlett on a variety of projects. After directing several more commercials and idents, Candeland once again joined forces with Hewlett to co-direct the Gorillaz promos.(via)
